THEBA offers a range of services for young women to develop skills that will enable them to live independently and to make informed choices about their lives.
Women are unique individuals and THEBA is interested in the issues that women are experiencing. THEBA develops creative and inclusive projects, programs and activities that encourage women to be all that they can be.
All programs have eligibility and conditions. We encourage you to refer to the Program Conditions and think about whether the program meet your needs.
Independent Living Skills Program
This program offers invaluable resources for women 18-30 to work
individually with experienced workers to develop strategies to make the
changes women identify in their lives.
Exit Housing Project
Supported accommodation for up to 12 months, women 18-30 completing
studies, traineeship and working. The project can support women in private
rental or community housing. The project is the final transition to independent
living and includes a brokerage package for women to set up and exit into
independent living, counselling, and further education fees.
Outreach Housing Project
Supported accommodation for up to 18 months. Single women with
or without dependents. The project may support women in private rental or
community housing. The project is to support the final transition to independent
living and includes a brokerage package for women to set up and exit into
independent living, counselling, and further education fees.
Outreach Support
Women may benefit from having contact with a skilled worker to discuss aspects
of their lives that they require further information, support or advocacy.
Areas we commonly resource women with are in managing finances, returning
to studies or wanting to change life direction, creating a support network,
arranging a manageable life and where to access as women’s health
and counselling services.
Application Process
Ring the office and enquire about vacancies in the programs. After giving
some initial information and asking any questions you have, the worker will
arrange a brief phone interview. You may be sent an application package
and information to consider and apply. It usually takes about 2 weeks to
respond to your application.
Groups
THEBA runs regular groups, workshops and activities. In the last year we
have run handyWomen workshops, nutrition, edible garden group, finance workshops
and conflict resolution information. The group themes are developed from
the feedback of women accessing THEBA and the emerging trends within the

Brokerage Program
THEBA dedicates an amount from recurrent funding for this project. Please

Tenancy
THEBA is able to offer 8 tenancies under the Supported Accommodation Program
funded by the Department of Community Services. To be eligible for tenancy
women must
1. Have an identified support need such as emotional, education, physical,
psychological, that can best be met by THEBA Inc.
2. Be willing to participate in the development and actioning of an individual
support plan (link to support document)
3. want to learn to live independently
4. be willing to share a house with other young Women on a cooperative basis
5. possess basic living skills
6. be in or willing to undertake employment, education, training or self
help healing work
